Position: Driller’s Helper Salary: $24-26.50/hr THE JOB A physical job that’s perfect for self-starters, the Driller’s Helper assists in obtaining core samples safely and efficiently. Daily responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: * Working and learning alongside an experienced driller * Repeatedly handling drill rods, weighing approximately 80lbs * Repeatedly emptying core tubes, weighing approximately 100lbs * Assisting in set-up and operation of drilling and support equipment * Monitoring stock levels of supplies and equipment for operations * Assisting with maintenance and repair of drilling and support equipment * Organizing and cleaning the drill site * Focusing on personal and drill site safety at all time * Communicating with the crew to maintain safety standardsTHE PERKS To be part of a dynamic, driven team that has a priority and focus towards on-the-job training and development; with an ability to leverage your existing skillset and gain qualifications to operate equipment from industry leading professionals. You’ll earn a competitive wage and have the potential to increase your salary through meter-based bonuses THE SETTING You’ll work on mineral exploration drill sites across Canada, where your “offi ce” could be the rugged mountains of BC, the forests of Northern Saskatchewan, or an underground mine in Ontario. Wherever you may be, you’ll experience unique terrain many people never get a chance to see. THE SCHEDULE Work hard, and have quality time off. Site roles require 12-hour work days while living in a camp environment. Scheduled days off leave plenty of time for travel or other pursuits. The typical schedule is 4 weeks on and 2 weeks off. You will alternate between day shift and night shift each time you get sent out on a job. Hy-Tech Drilling covers work-related costs for travel, meals and accommodation. WHAT YOU BRING Although experience is an asset, no formal training is necessary. You will need to be fi t for work and complete the pre-employment process. You’ll need to be a fast learner with a good attitude, an effective communicator and eager to work in a physical role. Mechanical aptitude is an asset. A valid driver’s licence, driver’s abstract and Standard First Aid CPR/AED Level C are required (First Aid is not required to be eligible to apply). Build a career that’s made to last.
